Participation at XIII ENCMP and IV RGC Conference

The eMetCO2 project was represented by Net4CO2 and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, at the XIII National Meeting on Catalysis and Porous Materials (ENCMP) and the IV Meeting of the Carbon Group (RGC). The events were held jointly from 15 to 17 June 2026 at Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL), Lisbon.

During the conference, Milana Barata presented the recent achievements of Work Package 2 entitled “Impact of NETmix Technology on Electrolyser Systems for Electrochemical CO₂ Reduction towards E-Fuel Production”. The research contributes directly to the eMetCO2 project’s goal of advancing innovative reactor technologies for efficient CO₂ conversion into value-added e-fuels.

The presented work addressed mass transfer limitations, one of the main challenges in electrochemical CO₂ reduction (eCO₂R), by exploring the integration of the NETmix technology into electrolyser flow distribution systems. Preliminary results showed improved performance compared to a conventional flow distributor, with higher cathodic current densities observed under CO₂ operation, highlighting the potential of NETmix-enabled reactor designs for more efficient e-fuel production.

Participation in XIII ENCMP and IV RGC provided an important opportunity to disseminate eMetCO2 developments, engage with the catalysis and carbon research community, and foster scientific discussion around innovative pathways for CO₂ valorisation and sustainable fuel production.
